The New Audi A5, launched in Korea this year, represents the evolution of Audi’s technology in the sedan segment. This premium mid-sized sedan is designed to set a standard for its class, with a platform dedicated to internal combustion engines and mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) technology. The New A5 is not just a well-made car, but an experience that reminds one of the balance between mechanical completion and emotion, even in the era of electric vehicles.

The New A5 is based on the ‘Premium Platform Combustion (PPC)’ platform, which is dedicated to internal combustion engines. This platform allows the car to move like a traditional car, with a suspension that gently absorbs road vibrations and a body that maintains its balance at corners. The quattro four-wheel drive system and seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission provide a tight grip on the road, making the car feel responsive and powerful.

The A545 TFSI Quattro S-Line model, in particular, delivers an impressive performance, with a maximum output of 271.9 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40.79kg·m. The diesel model, A540 TDI Quattro, is also notable for its suppressed vibration and noise, making it a sophisticated driving experience.

The New A5 has a longer and wider body than its predecessor, providing more knee space and trunk loading capacity in the rear seat. The hatch-type tailgate and coupe-like roofline give the car a practical and stylish design. The exterior features matrix LED headlamps and digital OLED taillamps, along with the newly designed 2D Audi logo.

The interior of the New A5 is designed to provide a comfortable and luxurious driving experience, with features such as ventilation seats, all-seating heating wire, and ambient light. The digital infotainment system, known as the “Digital Stage,” features up to three screens, including a 14.5-inch MMI touch display and an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit plus. The system also includes built-in apps such as Naver Maps, YouTube, and Spotify, and an AI-based Audi Assistant.

The New Audi A5 is not just a model year change or a rescheduling of options, but a statement that internal combustion engines can still evolve. In an era where all brands are considering “quiet and eco-friendly” means of transportation, Audi is asking the question, “Driving should still be fun.” The New A5 provides a good answer to this question, with its quattro grip, direct transmission connection, and intuitive digital interface. The car is a testament to Audi’s commitment to providing a fun driving experience, even in the era of electric vehicles.
