Dürr, a leading provider of industrial equipment, has successfully completed a turnkey paint shop project for Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) at the new Thanh Cong Viet Hung (TCVH) automobile factory in Quang Ninh, Vietnam. The project is a significant milestone in the Vietnamese government’s vision to establish a large-scale, modern automotive industrial complex in the region. The TCVH plant, which spans 36.5 hectares, has an annual production capacity of up to 120,000 vehicles and will serve as a central hub for Škoda vehicle distribution across Southeast Asia.
The factory is dedicated to producing the first Škoda automobile models in Vietnam, including the Škoda Kushaq and Škoda Slavia. The plant’s strategic location near Haiphong port ensures efficient logistics for importing completely knocked down (CKD) kits from Pune, India. Despite facing numerous challenges, including global supply chain interruptions, component constraints, and extreme weather events, Dürr completed the project within 18 months, from contract signing in November 2022 to final acceptance in July 2025.
Dürr played a crucial role in equipping the paint shop with advanced technology, including the electrically driven RoDip E for pretreatment and electrocoating. This innovative system uses freely programmable trolleys, each with a conveying drive and a rotating drive, enabling horizontal and rotating movements to be controlled independently for each body. This technology ensures a high level of efficiency, quality, and flexibility in the painting process.
The completion of the TCVH plant is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy, with job creation, increased tax revenues, and the training of skilled professionals. The plant’s contribution to the development of the automotive industry in Vietnam will also support the country’s economic growth and integration into the global market. With Dürr’s expertise and technology, the TCVH plant is well-positioned to become a major player in the regional automotive industry.
