Skoda has achieved significant sales success with its Kylaq model, selling 30,000 units since its launch in late 2024. The Kylaq accounts for 65% of Skoda’s total sales volume between January 2025 and August 2025, with the company selling 46,000 cars in that period. The Kylaq was designed to be Skoda’s volume spinner, marking the company’s return to the sub-Rs. 10 lakh segment. This segment is crucial for Skoda, as it had been absent from it since the discontinuation of the Fabia in the early 2010s.

The Kylaq has not only brought in volumes but also attracted new buyers who were previously considering smaller cars from other manufacturers. Skoda has reported that the Kylaq has put the company on the radar of buyers who had not considered Skoda before. To build on this momentum, Skoda has released a special edition of the Kylaq and is considering a CNG-powered version, although no launch timeline has been confirmed.

Skoda is also experiencing growth in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, with 65% of its new facilities opening in these locations. The company has expanded to 310 touch points, indicating a significant increase in its reach and presence. By tapping into the sub-Rs. 10 lakh segment with the Kylaq, Skoda has been able to crack the code and achieve success in these areas. The company’s strategy of expanding into smaller cities and offering affordable vehicles like the Kylaq seems to be paying off, with the Kylaq playing a key role in driving sales and growth for Skoda. Overall, the Kylaq has been a successful launch for Skoda, and the company is well-positioned for continued growth and expansion in the Indian market.
