Citroen is set to launch two new versions of the Aircross in India, expected to arrive during the festive season. The first, known as the Aircross X, will feature a range of upgrades, including a 360-degree camera, push-button start, full-LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, and wireless phone mirroring. The brand’s CARA virtual assistant is also likely to be included. The Aircross X will retain the same powertrain options as the current model, with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 109bhp and torque outputs of 190Nm or 205Nm, depending on the transmission chosen.

In addition to the Aircross X, Citroen will also introduce a CNG-powered version of the Aircross, which will be the company’s second CNG model in India after the C3. This variant will be available only with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The CNG kit will be offered as a dealer-level certified retrofit, with a three-year or 1 lakh km warranty. Citroen is targeting regions with strong CNG demand, such as the National Capital Region (NCR) and Gujarat, as well as fleet operators who prioritize running cost savings.

The CNG variant is expected to command a price premium of around Rs. 1 lakh over the equivalent petrol-only variant. Citroen’s decision to offer a CNG option is likely driven by the growing demand for alternative fuel vehicles in India, particularly in regions where CNG infrastructure is well-established. The launch of these two new versions of the Aircross is expected to help Citroen expand its presence in the Indian market and appeal to a wider range of customers. With the Aircross X offering a richer feature list and the CNG variant providing a more economical option, Citroen is poised to cater to different segments of the market and increase its competitiveness in the SUV segment.
