Citroen India has launched the Basalt X range in the country, with prices starting from Rs. 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variants offer a range of updates, including design enhancements, improved interiors, and the introduction of the CARA in-car assistant. Deliveries of the Basalt X range are expected to begin during the upcoming festive season.
The CARA system is a significant highlight of the Basalt X range, and has been developed in India for global markets. It is designed to respond naturally to voice commands, understand tone and context, and manage various tasks such as navigation, calls, music, and reminders. The system also integrates with the car’s systems to monitor tyre pressure, control climate functions, and activate safety features like SOS mode. Notably, CARA supports an impressive 52 Indian and global languages, making it a highly versatile and user-friendly feature.
In addition to the CARA system, the Basalt X range offers a range of other features, including cruise control and speed limiter, a 360-degree camera with seven viewing modes, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. The interior of the car has also been upgraded, with a new soft-touch leatherette dashboard, premium upholstery, gold accents, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen, and a seven-inch digital driver’s display.
The Basalt X range will be available with the same powertrain options as before, including a 1.2-litre petrol engine in naturally aspirated (82bhp) and turbocharged (110bhp, 205Nm) forms. The engine will be paired with a range of transmission options, including five- and six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Overall, the Citroen Basalt X range offers a compelling package of features, design updates, and technology, making it an attractive option for buyers in the Indian market.
