Citroen is set to launch a special edition of the Basalt, a coupe-SUV, called the Basalt X. The announcement comes shortly after the launch of the C3X. The Basalt X is expected to feature enhanced updates and features similar to the C3X, including keyless entry, new upholstery, and a 360-degree camera. However, there will be no significant cosmetic changes apart from a ‘Basalt X’ badge. The color palette and design elements will remain the same as the standard Basalt.

The Basalt X will be positioned as the range-topping variant, above the standard Basalt, and is expected to come with all the premium features that Citroen has to offer. In terms of powertrain, the Basalt X will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine as the standard version, producing 108bhp and up to 205Nm torque, depending on the transmission choice.

Citroen has announced that the Basalt X will be unveiled on September 5, 2025, along with the brand’s 2.0 revamp roadmap. Pre-bookings for the Basalt X are now open, and customers can reserve the vehicle by paying a token amount of Rs. 11,000. The launch of the Basalt X is part of Citroen’s 2.0 roadmap, which is expected to bring significant updates and changes to the brand’s lineup.

The Basalt X is expected to be a premium offering from Citroen, with enhanced features and a more powerful engine. With its launch, Citroen aims to strengthen its position in the coupe-SUV segment and attract customers who are looking for a more luxurious and feature-packed vehicle. Overall, the Basalt X is an exciting new addition to Citroen’s lineup, and its launch is highly anticipated by car enthusiasts and potential customers.
