Citroen, a French automaker, has announced that pre-bookings for the upcoming Citroen Basalt X in India are now open. The Basalt X is part of the company’s “Shift into the New 2.0” strategy, which aims to align its products with the expectations of Indian customers. The new vehicle will feature a blacked-out theme inside and out, along with a refreshed interior. Additional features will be revealed closer to the launch.

The Citroen Basalt X can be pre-booked through the company’s dealership or official website with a token amount of Rs 11,000. By introducing the Basalt X, Citroen aims to strengthen its position in the Indian market, where it is still building its recognition against strong competitors. The early access to bookings is intended to create interest ahead of the official launch and showcase the company’s latest customer-centric updates.

Recently, Citroen launched the Citroen C3X in India, priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The C3X is based on the standard Citroen C3 with enhanced features, including a Proxi-Sense Passive Entry and Push Start system, Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, and a HALO 360-degree camera system. The vehicle also features an auto-dimming Inside Rear-View Mirror, LED Vision projector headlamps, and a 10.25-inch Citroen Connect touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In terms of safety, the Citroen C3X comes with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Anti-Lock Braking System, and Hill Hold Assist. Bookings for the Citroen C3X have already begun, and deliveries are expected to commence from early September 2025. With the introduction of the Basalt X and the C3X, Citroen is looking to expand its presence in the Indian market and offer more options to customers. The company’s focus on customer-centric updates and features is expected to help it compete with other automakers in the country.
