Audi has unveiled the second-generation Q3 Sportback, a compact SUV with a coupe-style design. The new model is set to launch in global markets soon, with an expected arrival in India next year. The 2025 Q3 Sportback boasts a sporty, sleek design with a lower roofline, updated headlamps, and slim tail lamps. The car will be available with wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
Inside, the Q3 Sportback features a modern layout with button-based controls on the steering column, replacing traditional levers. Higher trims will come equipped with an 11.9-inch digital display and a 12.8-inch touchscreen. However, the sloping roofline reduces rear headroom and boot space by 97 liters compared to the regular Q3 SUV.
The Q3 Sportback offers a range of engine options, including a 1.5-liter petrol engine, a 2.0-liter petrol engine, a 2.0-liter diesel engine, and a plug-in hybrid engine producing 268bhp. The hybrid engine provides an electric-only driving range of up to 118 km.
The new Q3 Sportback will be available in global markets starting in November 2025. In India, Audi will continue to sell the first-generation Q3 Sportback at a price of Rs 56.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Q3 SUV is expected to launch in India in 2026, followed by the Sportback model. The introduction of the second-generation Q3 Sportback is likely to heat up competition in the compact SUV segment, with its sleek design, modern interior, and range of engine options.
Audi’s decision to launch the new Q3 Sportback in global markets first, followed by India, suggests that the company is focusing on established markets before expanding to emerging ones. The pricing and availability of the new Q3 Sportback in India will be crucial in determining its success, as the market is highly competitive and price-sensitive. Overall, the second-generation Q3 Sportback promises to be a stylish and feature-packed addition to the compact SUV segment.
