Valenzuela City in the Philippines is partnering with ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines to launch the largest electric vehicle (EV) police fleet in the country. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to enhance public safety while promoting eco-friendly transportation. The fleet will consist of 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles, which will reduce operational costs, potentially saving up to 70% in maintenance over five years, while also producing zero tailpipe emissions. BYD Cars Philippines’ Managing Director Bob Palanca emphasized the financial benefits of the fleet, citing reduced fuel and maintenance costs. The city is committed to sustainability, with existing initiatives such as a materials recovery facility and Clean & Green program, and the integration of the BYD Dolphin units will further reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, leading to improved air quality. ACMobility will deploy electric vehicle chargers throughout the city to support the project.
