Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has launched the BharatBenz heavy-duty truck range, equipped with the globally-proven 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology. The “Torqshift” range is available in the 4032T, 5532TS, 5532T, 2832CM, and flagship 3532CM models. The AMT technology has been proven globally in over 100,000 Mercedes-Benz trucks and will improve productivity, driving comfort, and fuel efficiency. The 3532CM mining tippers have already received a bulk order of 80 units. The Torqshift range is designed to handle heavy-duty requirements in the construction and mining segments, with a gross vehicle weight range of 28 to 55 tons. It features a wider range of gear ratios, higher input torque capacity, and a fuel-efficient design optimized for specific operating conditions. The transmission also prioritizes safety, with powertrain protection systems and best-in-class shifting mechanisms for smooth gear transitions. The launch of the Torqshift range is expected to benefit customers in the mining and construction segments, reducing their total cost of ownership and improving their operational efficiency.
