Volkswagen has officially teased the Tayron SUV for the Indian market, signaling the brand’s preparation for a new three-row flagship SUV. The camouflaged model reveals its LED lighting and silhouette, confirming it as the Tayron. The design features a full-width LED light bar, illuminated VW logo, and a slim connected LED strip at the rear, giving it a premium road presence. The India-spec SUV is expected to have larger 19-inch alloys, similar to the Tiguan R-Line, and minor cosmetic tweaks.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tayron India is expected to use a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, producing 204hp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The SUV may also offer Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system for added capability. The Tayron is slated for launch in the first half of 2026, with prices expected to range between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh, positioning it as a premium three-row SUV.

Volkswagen will import the Tayron as CKD units and assemble them at its Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra, optimizing costs and supporting long-term localization. This strategy highlights the brand’s renewed push in India’s lucrative SUV segment, with the Tayron offering a more practical, three-row alternative to the Tiguan. The Tayron’s launch is among the key upcoming VW launches this year, and it is expected to make a significant impact in the Indian market.

The Tayron’s design and features are expected to appeal to Indian customers looking for a premium SUV with a three-row seating configuration. The use of a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox is expected to provide a smooth and powerful driving experience. With its expected price range and features, the Volkswagen Tayron India is poised to compete with other premium SUVs in the market, and its launch is highly anticipated by automotive enthusiasts and potential customers.
