Škoda Auto is set to celebrate a series of significant anniversaries in 2026, marking key milestones in the company’s history. The first anniversary is the 125th year of Škoda Motorsport, which began in 1901 when Narcis Podsedníček achieved a “moral victory” in the Paris-Berlin race on a Laurin & Klement Slavia B motorcycle. This marked the start of Škoda’s involvement in motorsport, which has been an integral part of the company’s DNA ever since. Today, Škoda is celebrating its global success with the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 rally car.

Another significant anniversary is the 35th year since Škoda joined the Volkswagen Group in 1991. This partnership has been instrumental in transforming Škoda into a dynamically growing global player, with access to group technology, purchasing scale, and engineering expertise. This has enabled the company to expand its model portfolio, modernize its plants, and improve the quality, safety, and connectivity of its vehicles. Today, Škoda offers the broadest range of models in its history, including efficient combustion, hybrid, and all-electric vehicles.

The Škoda Octavia is also celebrating its 30th birthday, having been unveiled in 1996 as the first Škoda model developed entirely under the Volkswagen Group umbrella. The Octavia has been the brand’s bestseller for three decades, with each generation incorporating innovative technologies to raise standards in safety, connectivity, and efficiency. The current fourth generation continues this successful formula, combining modern design, outstanding space, and practicality, efficiency, and excellent value for money.

In addition to these anniversaries, Škoda is also marking other significant milestones, including the 90th anniversary of the Škoda Favorit, the 80th anniversary of the Škoda 1101 “Tudor”, the 50th anniversary of the Škoda 120, and the 50th anniversary of the rally debut of the Škoda 130 RS. These anniversaries highlight Škoda’s rich history and its commitment to innovation, quality, and performance. Throughout 2026, Škoda will be celebrating these milestones with various events and activities, showcasing its heritage and its vision for the future.
