The Japan Mobility Show 2025, held in Tokyo, showcased the latest innovations in the automotive industry from top Japanese manufacturers, including Honda, Suzuki, Toyota, and Lexus. The event highlighted the industry’s shift towards sustainable and connected mobility, with a focus on electric and hybrid models. Honda unveiled its new electric vehicle lineup, the Honda 0 Series, which includes the 0 SUV and the 0 Alpha. The 0 SUV features a minimalist interior, a yoke-style steering wheel, and a wide digital display, while the 0 Alpha is positioned as a more accessible model for markets like India.
Honda also reintroduced the Prelude, a two-litre hybrid sports coupe, which delivers 200 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Suzuki presented the Vision e-Sky, a compact fully electric car, while Toyota revealed a new-generation Corolla concept and the Land Cruiser FJ, the smallest SUV in its iconic lineup. Toyota also introduced the Century, a reimagined ultra-luxury car that combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced hybrid or electric systems.
Lexus showcased its Lexus Sport Concept, a low-slung hybrid supercar design, and a radical new Lexus LS concept, which has evolved from a sedan into a massive luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with six-wheel drive and a futuristic cabin layout. The 2025 show demonstrated Japan’s unified push towards an electric, connected, and sustainable mobility future, combining bold design with next-generation technology.
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, stated that the company’s strategy focuses on achieving “two zeros” – carbon neutrality and zero traffic collision fatalities. Honda has introduced the 0 Series Alpha, a model developed specifically for India, and aims to launch 10 new models in India by 2030, including 7 SUVs and the 0 Alpha EV. The Japan Mobility Show 2025 underscored the industry’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, with Japanese manufacturers leading the way in the development of electric and hybrid vehicles.
