The Toyota and Lexus enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for a new supercar, and the latest developments suggest that the wait may soon be over. A camouflaged car has been spotted on public roads, and a mysterious message on Toyota’s Japanese website, along with a new billboard at Fuji Speedway, hints at an imminent reveal. The billboard displays images of the Toyota 2000GT and the Lexus LFA, alongside a partially revealed image of the new car, complete with a “GR” badge.

The new car’s branding is still uncertain, as the Lexus or Toyota badge is not visible in the image. If it turns out to be a Lexus product, it would be a significant development, as no Lexus road car has previously worn the Gazoo Racing (GR) badge. The only Lexus with GR branding is the RC F GT3 race car. On the other hand, the lack of resemblance between the camouflaged car and the recently unveiled Lexus concept car at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, suggests that Toyota might have a separate halo sports-car product, while Lexus could have another.

The story began with the unveiling of the GR GT3 concept at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon, which featured a traditional sports car design with motorsports elements. Later, in July-August 2024, spy images and videos captured a new coupe running around Fuji Speedway, with a more production-like body and an LFA-inspired nose and rear fascia. The new car is expected to be revealed on October 13 at 12 a.m. ET, during a livestream from Fuji Speedway. This could be a significant moment for Toyota and Lexus, potentially marking the beginning of a new era in their performance car lineup.

The possibility of a Lexus LFA successor or a new Toyota supercar has generated considerable excitement among enthusiasts. The LFA was a highly acclaimed supercar, and its potential successor is expected to be just as impressive. With the GR badge and the involvement of Gazoo Racing engineers, the new car is likely to have a strong focus on performance and handling. As the reveal date approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting more information about the new car, including its specifications, design, and features. The livestream from Fuji Speedway is expected to provide answers to these questions and give the world a first look at the latest creation from Toyota and Gazoo Racing.
