A group of 60 Škoda enthusiasts, driving 28 cars, including the Kodiaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Yeti, made history by setting a record at Umling La, the highest motorable road in the world, standing at 19,024 ft. The convoy, which included people from various professions and age groups, covered over 3,000 km of extreme terrain, including river crossings, steep inclines, and temperatures ranging from -5 to 25°C. This remarkable feat earned recognition from both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.

The journey began in Manali and passed through Ladakh, Leh, Khardung La, Pangong Tso, Hanle, and Thang, before reaching Umling La. The participants, who came from all over India, including cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, and Gorakhpur, were driven by a sense of adventure and a passion for exploration. The record-breaking attempt was a testament to the engineering excellence of Škoda cars and the community spirit of its owners.

According to Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, the achievement is a reflection of the brand’s growing popularity and the loyalty of its customers. “The passionate fandom of Škoda owners acts as a powerful force multiplier for the brand,” he said. “Their pride, word-of-mouth advocacy, and community spirit turn ownership into a movement, inspiring trust and aspiration among new customers.”

The record-breaking attempt is also a milestone in Škoda Auto India’s strong surge in 2025. The company achieved its highest-ever half-yearly sales of 36,194 units, a 134% growth over the same period in 2024. The brand also expanded its network to over 315 customer touchpoints across 179 cities, highlighting its commitment to accessibility and customer centricity. With this achievement, Škoda Auto India continues to drive progress, powered by relevance, differentiation, and trust, in its 25th year in India. The company’s focus on delivering extraordinary experiences to its customers and its commitment to engineering excellence have made it a leader in the Indian automotive market.
