Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has reported a 3% year-on-year decline in overall sales for July 2025. The company’s total dispatches stood at 113,600 units, compared to 116,714 units in the same month last year. The decline in sales was primarily due to a drop in domestic wholesales, which fell to 96,029 units from 100,602 units in July 2024. However, exports rose marginally to 17,571 units from 16,112 units during the same period.
Despite the drop in overall volumes, Suzuki Motorcycle India highlighted a 14% growth in domestic retail sales, which stood at 93,141 units last month as against 81,730 units in July 2024. The company’s Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Deepak Mutreja, expressed optimism about the demand recovery in the coming months, citing festive sentiment and continued customer engagement as key drivers of sales.
The company remains focused on delivering a seamless and satisfying experience to its customers, and is banking on the upcoming festive season to sustain momentum in sales. Suzuki Motorcycle India’s performance is being closely watched by industry professionals, who are keen to see how the company will navigate the challenges and opportunities in the Indian motorcycle market.
The decline in sales is a setback for Suzuki Motorcycle India, but the company’s growth in domestic retail sales suggests that it is still holding its ground in the market. The company’s strategy of focusing on customer engagement and delivering a satisfying experience is likely to pay off in the long run, as Indian consumers become increasingly discerning and demanding.
As the festive season approaches, Suzuki Motorcycle India is likely to launch new models and offer attractive discounts and promotions to drive sales. The company’s ability to adapt to changing market conditions and consumer preferences will be crucial in determining its success in the coming months. With a strong brand presence and a wide range of products, Suzuki Motorcycle India is well-placed to capitalize on the growth opportunities in the Indian motorcycle market.
