Mahindra is set to launch two new electric SUVs in India by the first half of 2026. In addition to these new models, the company will also introduce upgraded versions of its existing SUVs, including the XUV700 and Thar 3-door. Testing of the new Mahindra XUV700 facelift and Thar facelift has already begun on Indian roads.
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to feature subtle design changes on the exterior, with updates to the headlamp setup, grille, and lower bumper. The side profile will remain largely unchanged, but the SUV will get new wheel arches and alloy wheels. The rear end will also receive design changes, including revised LED tail-lights and a tweaked lower bumper.
The cabin of the XUV700 facelift will receive significant changes, with the introduction of a triple screen dashboard. This will include a touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, and a co-passenger entertainment screen. The passenger screen will allow for video streaming, games, navigation help, and even video calls. The SUV will also get new upholstery for seats, a new interior scheme, and an updated feature list. This will include ventilated front and rear seats, self-parking assist, an upgraded Harman audio system with Dolby Atmos, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
Under the hood, the XUV700 facelift is expected to retain the existing engine choices, including a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel. The petrol engine produces 197bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 182bhp and 450Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The launch of the XUV700 facelift is expected to take place in the first half of 2026, along with the launch of the two new electric SUVs. The updated XUV700 will compete with other SUVs in the market, including the Hyundai Alcazar and the Tata Safari. With its new design, features, and engine options, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to be a strong contender in the Indian SUV market. The company’s focus on electric vehicles and upgrades to its existing models is a sign of its commitment to the Indian market and its efforts to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
