A motorcyclist, known as Born 2 Be Wild, recently shared his disappointing experience with the Royal Enfield Classic 650. He made an impulsive decision to buy the bike without test riding it, and ended up selling it just 10 days later. The decision was influenced by a review and pictures of the bike, which reminded him of his first bike, the Enfield Electra, purchased in 2004.

After riding the Classic 650 for 200 kilometers, the owner was underwhelmed by its performance. While he acknowledged that the bike is visually stunning, with a refined engine and smooth gear shifts, he felt that it lacked the “classic feel” of his old Bullet. The bike’s engine sound was too timid, and it felt heavy to maneuver in traffic. Additionally, the bike struggled to perform at speeds above 100 km/h, and the suspension was uncomfortable, making every bump and pothole feel pronounced.

The owner admits that his expectations were likely skewed by his experience with his current bikes, a 1300GS and a Busa, which are more powerful and have better suspension. He acknowledges that the Classic 650 is not a bad bike, but rather that it didn’t meet his personal preferences. His biggest regret is not test riding the bike before purchasing it, which would have given him a better understanding of its capabilities and characteristics.

In retrospect, the owner believes that he should have listened to his head rather than his heart, which was nostalgic for his old Enfield Electra. He hopes that his experience will serve as a lesson to others, highlighting the importance of test riding a bike before making a purchase. Despite his disappointment, the owner’s feedback provides valuable insights for potential buyers, who can learn from his mistakes and make a more informed decision.
