MG Motor has announced a significant price reduction for its 2025 MG ZS EV, celebrating six years in the Indian market. The price cut of up to ₹4.44 lakh brings the base price down to ₹16.75 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top variant now priced at ₹20.50 lakh. This move is expected to disrupt the electric SUV segment, posing a challenge to competitors like the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Hyundai Creta EV.
With the new pricing, the ZS EV becomes more affordable than its rivals, making it an attractive option for those seeking a premium, feature-rich electric SUV at a budget-friendly price. Despite the price reduction, MG has not compromised on the features and technology offered with the ZS EV. The vehicle still boasts a solid package, including a 50.3 kWh battery, an electric motor producing 174 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, and an ARAI-certified range of 461 km.
The ZS EV has been MG’s second electric car in India, with average monthly sales of around 600 units over the last six months. However, the Windsor EV has outsold the ZS EV, with over 27,000 units sold since September 2024. MG hopes that the new pricing will help boost sales of the ZS EV. The vehicle is loaded with premium features, including Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a panoramic sunroof, among others. With its impressive range, performance, and feature-rich cabin, the MG ZS EV is poised to be a strong contender in the electric SUV segment.
