Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has commenced production of its first electric scooter, the e-Access, at its manufacturing facility in Gurgaon, Haryana. The e-Access was first showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo and marks Suzuki’s entry into India’s electric scooter market. The company promises a durable, reliable, and sustainable mobility solution for daily commuters in urban environments. The e-Access is powered by Suzuki’s e-Technology, which includes a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack (LFP) that has undergone rigorous testing for durability and performance.
The e-Access features a sleek and stylish design, with a sharper and more premium look than the traditional Access scooter. It comes with a range of features, including a Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e) that offers modes like Eco Mode, Ride Mode A, Ride Mode B, and a Reverse Mode. The motor supports regenerative braking, and the power is sent to the rear wheels via a maintenance-free and low-noise belt-drive system.
The e-Access is expected to deliver a range of up to 95 km on a single charge, with a top speed of 71 km/h. It is powered by an electric motor that packs 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque. The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends and features disc brakes at the front. Suzuki has not revealed an exact launch date for the e-Access, but it is expected to rival other electric scooters in the market, including the Ather Riza, Ola S1, Honda Activa e, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.
The production of the e-Access marks a significant step towards Suzuki’s goal of providing multi-pathway solutions for sustainable mobility. The company’s entry into the electric scooter market is expected to boost the adoption of electric vehicles in India and provide customers with a reliable and affordable option for daily commuting. With its sleek design, advanced features, and promised performance, the e-Access is likely to be a strong contender in the Indian electric scooter market. Suzuki’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in the e-Access, and the company is expected to continue to play a significant role in shaping the future of mobility in India.
