The MG Windsor Pro is a new variant added to the Windsor EV range, designed to strengthen its presence in the competitive electric SUV segment. The Pro variant features a larger 52.9kWh battery, which increases the range to 449 kilometers, compared to the standard 332 kilometers. This new variant competes with top-spec models of various EVs in the market, including the Tata Nexon EV. A comparison between the MG Windsor Pro and the Tata Nexon EV 45 reveals some interesting differences.

In terms of performance, the Tata Nexon EV Empowered Plus 45 has an edge over the MG Windsor EV Essence Pro, despite the Windsor featuring a larger battery. The Nexon’s 45kWh battery produces 142bhp and 215Nm, while the Windsor delivers 134bhp and 200Nm. The Nexon EV also has a higher range of 489 kilometers, compared to the Windsor Pro’s 449 kilometers.

Both variants are well-equipped with features such as a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities. However, each model has its own distinct set of equipment. The Windsor Pro stands out with a 256-color ambient lighting system, flush door handles, and a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen, while the Nexon EV boasts front parking sensors, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and a panoramic sunroof.

The MG Windsor Pro is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), which is roughly Rs 50,000 above the Nexon EV’s top-spec Empowered Plus 45 variant. However, MG offers a battery rental scheme, which brings the upfront cost down to Rs 12.50 lakh, plus Rs 4.5 per km for battery usage. This approach makes the Pro version more accessible to buyers looking for a lower entry point. Overall, the MG Windsor Pro offers a unique set of features and a more flexible pricing option, making it a competitive option in the electric SUV segment.
