Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to promote innovation and facilitate business opportunities for startups from India and Japan. The MoU was exchanged between Dr. Tapan Sahoo, Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki, and Mr. Takashi Suzuki, Chief Director General of JETRO India, in the presence of Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki.

The collaboration aims to provide Indian startups with access to Japan’s startup and innovation ecosystem, and vice versa. Maruti Suzuki and JETRO will work together to facilitate the participation of startups in various activities and events, connecting them with relevant partners. Startups that have been selected through Maruti Suzuki’s innovation programs, such as Accelerator, Incubation, Mobility Challenge, and Nurture, will be eligible to participate in these events.

The partnership is expected to drive innovation and economic growth, and further strengthen the ties between India and Japan. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, highlighted the importance of startups in driving innovation and economic growth, and expressed his enthusiasm for providing a platform for Indian startups to explore the Japanese business landscape.

Takashi Suzuki, Chief Director General of JETRO India, praised Maruti Suzuki as a successful example of the partnership between India and Japan, and emphasized the potential for even more fruitful business collaborations between the two nations. The MoU aims to foster innovation, drive economic growth, and promote mutual understanding and cooperation between India and Japan.
