Mahindra has introduced a special edition of its long-standing SUV, the Bolero, called the Bold Edition. This new edition features internal and external cosmetic updates, aiming to capitalize on the trend of black edition vehicles. The Bolero Bold Edition gets darkened chrome elements and black bumpers on the outside, while the interior receives black seat covers over the standard beige upholstery.

The Bold Edition is expected to be available across various variants, as it is essentially an accessory pack that can be fitted at the dealer level. However, Mahindra has not revealed the pricing for this special edition yet. It is anticipated that the Bold pack will come with a premium of up to Rs. 30,000 over the standard price of the car.

Mechanically, the Bolero Bold Edition remains unchanged, powered by the same 1.5-liter, three-cylinder diesel engine that produces 75bhp and 210Nm. The engine is paired with a manual gearbox that powers the rear wheels. The lack of mechanical updates is not surprising, as the Bolero is primarily popular for its ruggedness and versatility, rather than its performance.

The Bolero is a consistent best-seller for Mahindra, with a loyal customer base in rural areas where its go-anywhere capability and load-carrying capacity are highly valued. With over 25 years of service, the Bolero is Mahindra’s longest-serving brand, even surpassing the Scorpio name. The introduction of the Bold Edition is likely to further boost the car’s appeal, especially among customers looking for a stylish and rugged SUV.

Overall, the Mahindra Bolero Bold Edition offers a fresh new look to the classic SUV, with its blacked-out exterior and interior accents. While the pricing is yet to be revealed, it is expected to be a minor premium over the standard model. With its proven track record and loyal customer base, the Bolero Bold Edition is likely to be a successful addition to Mahindra’s lineup.
