Honda has officially discontinued the CD 110 Dream, one of its most affordable entry-level commuter motorcycles in India. The decision to phase out the bike was made due to declining sales in the highly competitive commuter bike segment. Despite its budget-friendly pricing and practical features, the CD 110 Dream failed to gain traction with buyers, leading to a significant decline in sales. In October 2024, the bike sold 8,511 units, but by March 2025, sales had plummeted to just 33 units.

The CD 110 Dream was powered by a 109.51 cc air-cooled engine that produced 8.6 bhp and 9.3 Nm of torque. It came with a range of features, including a two-way Engine Start/Stop Switch, Combi-Brake System (CBS), and a diamond-type frame. The bike also had a long 720mm seat, telescopic front fork, and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

One of the main reasons for the decline in sales of the CD 110 Dream was the launch of the Honda Shine 100, which was priced significantly lower at around Rs 10,000 cheaper. The Shine 100, which is still available in the market, comes with a 98.98 cc engine and produces 5.3 bhp and 8.05 Nm of torque. The bike has 17-inch alloy wheels and 130 mm drum brakes at the front and 110 mm drum brakes at the rear.

The discontinuation of the CD 110 Dream does not mean that Honda is exiting the commuter segment. The company will continue to sell the Shine 100, which has been more popular with buyers. The decision to phase out the CD 110 Dream is a strategic move by Honda to focus on more popular and in-demand models. With the rise of electric vehicles and increasing competition in the commuter bike segment, Honda is shifting its focus to meet the changing demands of the market.

The CD 110 Dream’s discontinuation marks the end of an era for one of Honda’s most affordable motorcycles. The bike had a loyal customer base, but ultimately failed to compete with other models in the segment. As the auto industry continues to evolve, Honda will likely introduce new models to cater to the changing needs of buyers. For now, the Shine 100 remains a popular option for those looking for an affordable and reliable commuter bike.
