Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has announced a record annual sales of 12.56 lakh units for the financial year 2024-25, marking an 11% growth compared to the previous year. The company’s domestic sales also saw a 14% growth, reaching 10.45 lakh units. SMIPL’s highest-ever monthly sales were achieved in March 2025, with 1.25 lakh units sold, a 21% increase from the same period last year. The company attributed its growth to customer trust and initiatives such as the launch of the new Suzuki Access scooter and customer engagement events.
SMIPL expanded its product lineup in FY2024-25, introducing the all-new Access scooter and the GIXXER SF 250 Flex Fuel motorcycle. The company also showcased its upcoming electric scooter, e-ACCESS, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, signaling its entry into the electric mobility segment. Additionally, SMIPL updated its entire domestic product range to comply with OBD-2B emission norms, aligning with regulatory requirements in the Indian market.
SMIPL began operations in India in February 2006 and has a manufacturing plant in Gurugram, Haryana, with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million units. The company’s growth is noted in a market that has shown a robust recovery following pandemic-related disruptions. The Indian two-wheeler market is currently witnessing increased competition in the electric vehicle segment, with traditional manufacturers introducing battery-powered alternatives to conventional internal combustion engine models.
Industry analysts note that Suzuki’s planned entry into the electric scooter market with its e-ACCESS model, featuring LFP battery technology, comes at a time when the electric two-wheeler segment in India is gaining momentum, driven by government incentives and growing environmental awareness among consumers.
