Mahindra, an Indian automobile manufacturer, is set to introduce its new compact SUV, the XUV 3X0, at the upcoming Melbourne Motor Show in Australia. This model was launched in India last year as an updated version of the XUV 300. The XUV 3X0 will be sold with three engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol ‘mStallion’, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. The vehicle’s features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, dual 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, a wireless smartphone charger, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts for all seats, all-disc brakes, and electronic stability control.
In Australia, the XUV 3X0 is expected to compete with other small SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-30, and Toyota Corolla Cross. Mahindra Australia plans to position this model as an affordable alternative to Chinese small SUVs like the Chery Omoda 5, GWM Haval Jolion, and MG ZS. Other Mahindra models currently on sale in Australia include the XUV700, Scorpio-N, and the 4×4 Pikup.
While no updates have been confirmed on Australian specs and pricing, it is expected that the XUV 3X0 will cater to the budget end of the market. With its impressive feature list and competitive pricing, this new compact SUV from Mahindra is likely to make a strong impact on the Australian auto market.
