The Kia Carens is set to launch in India this month, and it’s expected to be a strong contender in the market against the Mahindra XUV700 and other 7-seater SUVs. The new Carens has been spotted testing in camouflage, and it’s expected to have a revised design with new headlamp design, front bumper, alloy wheels, and LED taillight setup. The interior is also expected to get a premium makeover with a new dashboard layout, new upholstery, and additional features such as a 360-degree camera, ADAS functions, and panoramic sunroof.

The Kia Carens will be offered with three engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol engine, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine. Transmission choices will include iMT, DCT, and torque converter automatic. The new Carens is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Interestingly, Kia may also sell the new Carens under a different nameplate, with the outgoing Carens model retaining the Carens name. The company has opened unofficial bookings for the new Carens with a token amount of Rs 25,000. Potential buyers can visit their nearest Kia dealership to book the new SUV.

With its impressive features, competitive pricing, and expected robust performance, the new Kia Carens is likely to give the Mahindra XUV700 and other 7-seater SUVs a run for their money in the Indian market.
