Royal Enfield has launched several new motorcycles in recent years, including an electric bike, which was showcased at the EICMA 2024 in Milan. The company has since launched the Bear 650 and Super Meteor 650, but the Classic 650, which was also showcased, has only just been launched. The wait is now over, and it’s expected to be launched on March 27th.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is a retro-styled motorcycle that borrows its chassis from the Shotgun 650. It gets a circular LED headlamp, a tear-drop-shaped tank, and four color options. It also features a twin-exhaust setup to enhance its looks. The motorcycle gets a 648cc parallel-twin engine that produces 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The Classic 650 is Royal Enfield’s heaviest bike, with a curb weight of 243kg, which may affect its handling and rideability. However, it’s a smooth-riding bike with a reliable engine. The bike features an analogue speedometer and an optional tripper navigation pod, as well as dual-channel ABS as standard.
The Classic 650 will be priced slightly lower than the Super Meteor 650, with the top-end variant of the latter ranging from Rs 4.56 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The Classic 650 is expected to be priced around Rs 4-4.5 lakh, making it an attractive option for those looking for a retro-style motorcycle with reliable performance.
