HDFC ERGO General Insurance has promoted Mukesh Kumar to the position of Joint Vice President – Human Resources. In this new role, Kumar will focus on strengthening the company’s human capital growth and strategic people planning. Kumar joined the company in October 2022 as Deputy Vice President – HRBP & Talent Acquisition, where he was responsible for managing human resources and talent acquisition across various departments in India.
With over 20 years of experience in the HR domain, Kumar has worked with prominent brands such as Jio, Reliance Capital, Reliance Group, and Apollo Munich Health Insurance. His expertise lies in leading talent acquisition, embedding data-driven HR strategies, and driving transformation and high-impact delivery. Kumar’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including setting up and streamlining hiring processes, driving cross-functional collaboration, and providing strategic recruitment support.
Prior to joining HDFC ERGO, Kumar worked at Apollo Munich Health Insurance, where he held various key positions, including Manager – Talent Acquisition and AVP – HR. He was responsible for heading talent acquisition pan-India and successfully closed numerous corporate positions and hired sales employees across multiple locations. Kumar also worked at Reliance Capital | Reliance Group, where he set up and streamlined the hiring process for sales and non-sales functions and provided strategic recruitment support to business heads.
In 2019, Kumar joined Jio as Head – Talent Acquisition, where he gained valuable experience in leading talent acquisition at scale. Kumar holds an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University and is well-equipped to drive human capital growth and strategic people planning at HDFC ERGO General Insurance. With his extensive experience and expertise, Kumar is poised to make a significant impact in his new role and contribute to the company’s success.
