The Board of Directors of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company has approved the appointment of Anuradha Bhatia as an Additional (Independent) Director for a term of 5 years, starting from March 12, 2025, and ending on March 11, 2030. Ms. Bhatia is a former member of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai, and a retired Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. She has over three decades of experience in direct tax administration, during which she supervised 23 districts of Maharashtra as Principal Chief Commissioner, Income Tax.
In her previous role at the NCLT, Ms. Bhatia was involved in administering the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 and the Companies Act, 2013, overseeing matters related to dispute resolution, liquidation, insolvency/bankruptcy, and merger and amalgamation. She has also served as a Director (Finance) on the Board of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, where she oversaw the board’s debt and financial restructuring.
Ms. Bhatia is currently a Senior Partner at A. B. Advisor and ABW Legal, advisory firms. Her expertise in corporate law, tax, and finance makes her a valuable addition to the ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company’s Board of Directors.
The appointment of Ms. Bhatia as an Independent Director is expected to bring significant value to the company, as she brings a wealth of experience in corporate law, tax, and finance.
