The 14th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament 2024, organized by Oriental Insurance Company and the Mumbai Cricket Association, saw two exciting matches in the quarterfinals. In the first match, New India Assurance (NIA) SC secured a 22-run victory against Bank of Maharashtra. NIA reached a total of 186 for 5 wickets from 20 overs, thanks to the efforts of opening batsmen Harsh Ubale (60 off 49 balls) and Anish Shetty (55 off 26 balls), as well as Sanskar Dahelkr’s 29 runs. In response, Bank of Maharashtra managed 164 for 4 wickets in 20 overs, with Azim Khan scoring 59 runs off 46 balls and Omkar Patankar contributing 29 runs. New India Assurance’s left-arm spinners Nayan Jadhav and Himanshu Sonthalia took 2 wickets each to secure their team’s victory.

In the second match, United Patni SC crushed Reserve Bank of India by 10 wickets. Reserve Bank of India were bowled out for just 53 runs in 13.4 overs, with Ashwin Shelke, Sandesh Koli, and Omar Patni taking the wickets. In response, United Patni reached 54 for no loss in 5.5 overs, with Omar Patni scoring 36 and Shreyash Singh contributing 16. The result was a comprehensive 10-wicket victory for United Patni. These matches set the stage for the rest of the tournament, which promises to be an exciting and competitive event.
