Ms. Amudhavalli Ranganathan, daughter of CavinKare Chairman & MD CK Ranganathan, has launched CK Unavagam, India’s first student-led dignified meal service. The initiative is a combination of social impact and real-world learning for students, operated by CK Educational Institutions and CavinKare. The meal service is spread across 4,500 sq. ft and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily at affordable prices starting from Rs. 10.

The idea behind CK Unavagam draws inspiration from Ms. Amudhavalli’s great grandmother, Late Mrs. Manoranjitham, who believed that every person deserves a dignified meal. The initiative is guided by her grandfather’s vision that whatever the rich man enjoys, the common man should be able to afford too. CK Unavagam connects family legacy, social impact, and education innovation, providing students with the opportunity to manage a full-fledged enterprise and learn valuable skills such as finance management, team leadership, and customer engagement.

The launch of CK Unavagam is a significant milestone in India’s education landscape, as it sets a new benchmark by blending learning with service, education with enterprise, and legacy with innovation. The initiative proves that classrooms need not be limited by four walls and that the most powerful lessons are learned when students step up to serve society. By engaging students in this mission, CK Unavagam aims to create responsible citizens who understand compassion, community spirit, and sustainability.

CK Unavagam is not just a meal service, but a platform where students can learn empathy, responsibility, and leadership. The initiative teaches students the importance of compassion and accountability, shaping them into socially conscious professionals ready to make an impact in their careers and society. With its unique approach to education and social impact, CK Unavagam is poised to inspire many more such models in the future. As Mr. CK Ranganathan, Chairman & Managing Director, CavinKare, said, “CK Unavagam is a meaningful innovation that blends education with social impact, and I am confident it will serve as an inspiration for many more such models in the future.”
