Acharya Balkrishna, of Patanjali Yogpeeth, emphasized the need for innovative solutions to address social and environmental challenges in Uttarakhand. He shared his vision for transforming barren lands in Pauri Garhwal into fertile grounds, focusing on sustainable farming and benefiting local farmers. Balkrishna stressed the importance of adopting a constructive approach to solve societal problems, urging individuals to focus on solutions rather than criticism. He highlighted Patanjali Yogpeeth’s initiative in Pokhara village, where they identified barren lands and negotiated to purchase unused land. However, they soon realized there was no water, so they worked to arrange water and are now cultivating sandalwood, neem, and other crops. This effort aims to support farmers who lack resources and provide livelihoods to local people, potentially curbing migration. Balkrishna believes that if this initiative succeeds, the barren land can be made fertile, benefiting the local community.
