City Union Bank records 17% up Q4 net at Rs 254.81 crore

Private sector City Union Bank has reported a 17 per cent jump in its net profits at Rs 254.81 crore for the January-March 31, 2024 quarter, based on improved recovery from slippages.
The Tamil Nadu-based bank had registered a net profit of Rs 218.04 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year.For the financial year ending March 31, 2024, the net profits of the bank breached the Rs 1,000 crore mark, with Rs 1,015.73 crore, up by 8 per cent from Rs 937.47 crore registered a year ago.

RBI imposes ₹1.3 crore penalty on SBI, ₹1.6 crore on Indian Bank

RBI has imposed a penalty of ₹1.3 crore on State Bank of India and ₹1.62 crore on Indian Bank for non-compliance with guidelines on ‘Loans and Advances – Statutory and Other Restrictions’.The statutory Inspection of the banks for FY21 revealed that they had sanctioned a term loan to a corporation in lieu of or to substitute budgetary resources envisaged for certain projects and without undertaking due diligence on the viability and bankability of the projects. Caught on camera: HDFC Bank manager dies of cardiac arrest while working, video goes viral

A 38-year-old HDFC Bank employee died of a sudden cardiac arrest while he was working on his laptop.

The incident, which took place on June 19, was caught on camera at the bank has gone viral on social media platforms.

According to reports, the employee has been identified as Rajesh Shinde, and the incident took place at a branch of bank in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district.
