jindal india: Delhi HC asks PNB consortium of lenders to upgrade Jindal India Thermal Power’s NPA status to standard

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked a consortium of 13 lenders led by Punjab National Bank to remove and upgrade the Jindal India Thermal Power’s non-performing asset (NPA) status to standard as it has fully paid resolution amount of Rs 2,450 crore before the scheduled date of payment.It has also asked the banks to update Jindal’s new status in the Central Repository of Information on Large Credits and also release its 73.59% shares pledged with them.The order was passed after Jindal India had moved the HC claiming that despite fully paying the resolution amount the lenders had refused to release the pledge on the shares.Justice Mini Pushkarna, while laying down steps for release…
