Colgate, in partnership with The Smile Clinic, recently conducted a free dental care event for approximately 70 students at Bright Little Ones Pre-School. The event was part of Colgate’s Oral Health Month activation, aiming to promote oral health awareness and provide essential dental care to young children. During the event, the Colgate team educated the students on the importance of maintaining strong and healthy teeth by brushing for two minutes, twice a day.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Colgate General Manager Adrian Romanin highlighted the company’s collaboration with the Ministry of Health to promote oral health awareness. Romanin mentioned that Colgate has been visiting villages and communities across the country, distributing free dental kits and educating people about the importance of oral hygiene. This initiative demonstrates Colgate’s commitment to improving oral health in the community, particularly among children.

The Smile Clinic, a partnering organization, carried out free dental checks on the students, assessing their oral hygiene and providing valuable insights into their dental health. Principal Dentist Dr. Sagar Dhanji emphasized the significance of early dental care, citing a study that found children who develop cavities in their baby teeth are 220% more likely to have cavities in their adult teeth. This staggering statistic underscores the need for early intervention and education on oral health.

As part of the event, children received free brushing kits after their dental check-up, providing them with the necessary tools to maintain good oral hygiene. The event was a positive step towards promoting oral health awareness and encouraging healthy habits among young children. By partnering with The Smile Clinic and the Ministry of Health, Colgate is making a significant contribution to improving oral health in the community. The company’s efforts to educate children and provide them with essential dental care will likely have a lasting impact on their overall health and wellbeing.
