The Uttar Pradesh Cow Commission and Patanjali, a well-known Indian consumer goods company, have entered into a partnership to promote cow protection and rural industries in the state. This collaboration aims to transform cow shelters into rural industry hubs, focusing on the production of Panchgavya products, which are derived from five cow products: milk, curd, ghee, urine, and dung.
The partnership seeks to not only protect cows but also to create economic opportunities in rural areas. The UP government and Patanjali will work together to develop Gaushalas, or cow shelters, into vibrant industrial centers. This initiative is expected to boost the rural economy and provide employment opportunities for local villagers.
As part of the agreement, Sah Bharati, a non-governmental organization, has offered to run Gaushalas through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in UP. This will enable the Gaushalas to access funding and technical expertise, allowing them to become self-sustaining and profitable.
The production of Panchgavya products is a key aspect of this initiative. These products have a range of applications, from agriculture to medicine, and are considered to have numerous health benefits.
