Acharya Balkrishna Ji’s birthday was celebrated as Herb Day in Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar. The event was attended by Swami Ramdev Ji, who said that the main objective of celebrating Acharya Ji’s birthday is to promote the use of herbs for a healthy world. Swami Ji emphasized that herbs are a medium to experience the grace of nature-God and are not only for treatment but also for self-realization. Acharya Ji, who has dedicated his life to public welfare, said that herbs do not belong to us, but we belong to herbs, and it is essential to save them to protect human life.
During the event, 11 books written by Acharya Ji were released, including “Saumitreya Padapaniruktam” and several books on Indian medical systems and the negative aspects of modern medicines. Lakhs of workers of Patanjali Yoga Samiti distributed and planted herbs such as Tulsi, Giloy, Aloe Vera, Ashwagandha, and Neem free of cost in every house at district, tehsil, block, and village level.
The event also included blood donation, eye test, and dental test camps, where about 450 units of voluntary blood were donated, and free spectacles and dental kits were distributed to those in need. Cultural programs were organized, featuring performances by students of Patanjali Gurukulam, Acharyakulam, Patanjali University, and Patanjali Ayurveda College.
Acharya Ji appealed to all countrymen to protect health and environment by planting herbs in maximum numbers. He emphasized that every day is a new birth with new energy, and we should make continuous efforts to serve Mother India, humanity, nature, and culture. The event was a celebration of Acharya Ji’s life and work, which has inspired millions of people around the world. Through his efforts, Patanjali Yogpeeth has become a symbol of Indian culture and tradition, promoting the use of herbs and natural remedies for a healthy and happy life.
