Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd has launched an initiative to educate school students across India about plastic waste management and sustainability. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Book Trust, India (NBT) and the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) to develop and distribute an educational book on the subject. The book, which will be created by NBT in collaboration with Bisleri and CEE, will focus on responsible plastic usage, waste segregation, and circular economy principles.

The MoU was signed at a ceremony in New Delhi, where Bisleri CEO Angelo George emphasized the importance of youth participation in climate action and environmental conservation. The company will sponsor the printing of 1 lakh books in 48 languages, which will be distributed to educational institutions across the country over the next two years. The book is an adaptation of “Towards Responsible Use of Plastics,” previously published by Bisleri and CEE in eight Indian languages.

The initiative is part of Bisleri’s Bottles for Change campaign, which aims to promote sustainability, youth engagement, and environmental education. As part of the collaboration, Bisleri will be onboarded as NBT’s Sustainability Partner and will participate in all National Book Fairs organized by NBT. The company will also install 10 recycled plastic benches at each NBT office across India and provide complimentary kiosk space and branding opportunities at all NBT book fairs and events.

Bisleri has a strong legacy of over 54 years and has grown to become one of the largest premium beverage businesses in India. The company follows a stringent process of 114 quality tests and a 10-stage purification process to provide consumers with pure, safe, and healthy water. With a robust distribution network of over 6,000 distributors and 7,500 distribution trucks across India and neighboring countries, Bisleri offers a range of beverages that cater to different needs and preferences.

The partnership between Bisleri, NBT, and CEE reflects their shared commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation. The initiative aims to educate young minds about the importance of responsible plastic usage and waste management, and to empower them to become change agents in environmental conservation. By working together, the three organizations hope to create a greener and more sustainable future for all.
