In Egypt, a 10 GW wind megaproject announced in western Suhag

After China, Egypt is likely to be the country of gigantism when it comes to renewable energy production. The Egyptian government has just authorized a consortium to develop 3,025 km2 of land in the western Suhag governorate. On site, Emirati energy giant Masdar, its joint venture Infinity Power (with Infinity Energy) and Egyptian flagship Hassan Allam Utilities are planning to deploy a vast 10,000 MW wind farm.

Statkraft acquires Neoen’s project portfolio in Croatia

Statkraft has acquired the Croatian portfolio of French renewables developer Neoen. According to Arnaud Bellanger, Country Manager for Croatia and France at the Norwegian state-owned utility, the deal covers about ten projects.
Statkraft said the acquisition received all regulatory approvals, allowing Neoen’s portfolio to be integrated into its operations in Croatia.
