IndiGo, a prominent Indian airline, has announced an expansion of its codeshare agreement with KLM, a Netherlands-based carrier. This partnership will enable IndiGo to place its code on KLM-operated flights to 30 destinations across Europe and the UK, with Amsterdam serving as the hub. The agreement is an extension of the codeshare partnership finalized in 2022, which allowed KLM customers to access 24 destinations on IndiGo’s network.
With this latest development, IndiGo will be able to expand its reach to numerous European cities, including Paris, Berlin, Geneva, Madrid, Brussels, London, Helsinki, Oslo, Prague, and Stockholm. The codeshare partnership will allow passengers to book a single ticket for travel on both IndiGo and KLM flights, providing a seamless travel experience.
The extension of the codeshare agreement builds upon a Memorandum of Understanding signed in June between IndiGo, Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic. This partnership is expected to further strengthen the ties between the airlines and provide more options for passengers traveling between India and Europe.
Earlier this month, IndiGo launched non-stop services from Mumbai to Amsterdam, marking a significant milestone in its expansion plans. The codeshare agreement with KLM will complement this new route, allowing IndiGo to offer its passengers a wider range of destinations in Europe.
The partnership between IndiGo and KLM is a strategic move to increase connectivity between India and Europe, catering to the growing demand for air travel between the two regions. By leveraging each other’s networks, the airlines aim to provide a more comprehensive and convenient travel experience for their passengers. With this expanded codeshare agreement, IndiGo is poised to strengthen its presence in the European market and offer more options for travelers.
