Air India plans to increase its premium seating capacity and focus on connecting traffic to become a major global transit hub. The airline aims to double its international transit traffic in the next three years. To achieve this, Air India will introduce more premium seats and enhance its international hub-and-spoke connectivity. This strategy is expected to tap into “huge growth opportunities” and transform India into a key global transit hub. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, has revealed that Air India will soon offer more premium services, including increased international connectivity. The airline is also planning to launch new flights, routes, and destinations in 2025. By focusing on connecting traffic, Air India hopes to attract more passengers who are transferring between flights, thereby increasing its revenue and competitiveness in the market.
