The plane was hijacked by militants and taken to Kandahar, Afghanistan, where it was held for 7 days. Sharan and his crew managed to bring the plane back to India safely, without compromising the safety of the passengers. Sharan’s bravery and expertise were instrumental in resolving the crisis.
