Air India Leverages Vistara’s 787-9 Fleet for Dubai Route, Following 7-Hour Delay

Air India flight AI909 from Mumbai to Dubai experienced a technical snag, causing a 7-hour delay. The flight was operated by a Vistara Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which was originally scheduled to depart from Mumbai at 8:25 AM but took off at 5:10 PM. The flight landed safely in Dubai at 6:29 PM. Despite being delayed, passengers were accommodated in the transit lounge. However, many were disappointed and frustrated, with some sharing their experience on social media, including a passenger who questioned the airline’s decision to operate a malfunctioning aircraft. This is not the first time Air India has faced technical issues, with a similar incident occurring in November 2024 when a flight from Phuket to Delhi was stuck on the ground for over 80 hours due to technical difficulties. In another incident, a flight from Paris to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur due to smog conditions, leaving passengers waiting in the aircraft for hours. Passengers have been critical of Air India’s crisis management and communication protocols.
