Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has patented the design of its upcoming electric motorcycle, the Vida UBEX. The UBEX is an urban electric motorcycle that boasts an aggressive and sporty street fighter design. The patented design reveals a production-spec version of the concept bike that was showcased at the 2025 EICMA Show. The bike features a mono projector headlight, LED DRLs, and turn indicators, as well as a sporty fuel tank design and side body panels.
The UBEX has an upright handlebar, a single-piece seat with a slight step for the pillion area, and neutral footpeg positioning, making it comfortable for riders. The bike also features a tubular trellis-type swingarm, front and rear disc brakes, and a tyre hugger. One of the notable features of the UBEX is its large battery pack, which extends to the bottom of the bike, suggesting a high capacity.
The UBEX is expected to come with a mid-mounted motor that drives the rear wheels, as well as a TFT instrument cluster with features like turn-by-turn navigation. Although the launch timeline is not yet known, the bike is expected to be sold through Hero’s Premia dealerships and dedicated Vida dealerships.
It’s worth noting that Hero Vida has been actively working on expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, with the recent launch of the DIRT.E K3, an electric bike for children. The company has also trademarked the design of the VxZ (Vida x Zero) electric motorcycle, indicating its commitment to the electric vehicle segment.
The patenting of the UBEX design is a significant step forward for Hero Vida, and the bike is expected to be a major player in the Indian electric motorcycle market. With its sporty design, comfortable ergonomics, and advanced features, the UBEX is likely to appeal to a wide range of customers. As the Indian government continues to push for electrification of vehicles, Hero Vida’s efforts in this space are likely to pay off, and the UBEX is an important part of the company’s electric vehicle strategy.
