Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler brand, is set to enter the electric motorcycle segment in the Indian market with the launch of two new models by the end of 2027. The company currently retails electric scooters under the Vida sub-brand, but it is now expanding its portfolio to include electric motorcycles. At the EICMA 2025 in Italy, Hero unveiled two concept electric motorcycles, the Vida Ubex and Vida Project VxZ, which are expected to be launched in India by 2027.

The Vida Ubex is a neo-naked urban hypermoto designed for all-terrain riding, with a modular platform and advanced smart connectivity features. It has a distinctive design with a front beak, tall stance, and sleek rear profile. The suspension duties are handled by USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The Ubex is expected to be powered by a mid-mounted electric motor, although the battery pack and range details have not been revealed.

The Vida Project VxZ, on the other hand, is a naked streetfighter that has been jointly developed with US-based Zero Motorcycles. It has a premium design with 5-spoke alloy wheels, a stepped seat, and a compact tail section. Like the Ubex, the VxZ is also expected to be powered by a mid-mounted electric motor, although the technical specs have not been disclosed.

In addition to these two electric motorcycles, Hero also showcased the Vida Dirt.E Series, a new line of off-road electric motorcycles, at the EICMA 2025. The series includes the Dirt.E K3, an electric bike designed for children, and the Dirt.E MX7 Racing Concept, a high-performance electric off-road motorcycle built with Hero’s Dakar Rally engineering expertise.

The launch of these electric motorcycles marks a significant milestone for Hero MotoCorp, as it looks to expand its presence in the Indian market and cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles. With its strong brand presence and extensive distribution network, Hero is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the electric motorcycle segment. The company’s focus on innovation and technology is evident in its new electric motorcycles, which are expected to offer a unique blend of style, performance, and sustainability.
