Andhra Pradesh is set to become a major hub for clean energy manufacturing with the launch of a new project by Premier Energies. The project, which is an expansion of the company’s existing module capacities, will position India as a leader in next-generation photovoltaic technologies. The complex is expected to generate around 3,500 direct jobs and significant indirect employment opportunities as ancillary industries grow. A phased scale-up to 7 GW is also planned to meet the rising demand for clean energy.

According to Lokesh, the project is a catalyst for green jobs and will create a robust manufacturing ecosystem that will benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), logistics, and service sectors. The strategic choice of Naidupeta as the location for the project was due to its proximity to ports, reliable infrastructure, and the state’s port-led industrial strategy, which minimizes risks for upstream solar manufacturing. The site was selected with precision to optimize freight, energy, water, and talent availability, enabling rapid commissioning.

The project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s broader vision to develop a renewable manufacturing corridor, which aims to enhance self-reliance and global competitiveness in solar exports. The state is committed to investor-friendly reforms, competitive incentives, and seamless facilitation to support the growth of the clean energy sector. Lokesh emphasized that the project is an example of “speed with substance,” with a focus on integration, logistics, and timelines.

The project is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and will contribute to the state’s goal of becoming a leader in clean energy manufacturing. With its strong infrastructure and favorable business environment, Andhra Pradesh is poised to attract more investments in the clean energy sector and create a thriving ecosystem for renewable energy manufacturing. Overall, the project is a significant step towards promoting green jobs, reducing carbon emissions, and contributing to a sustainable future.
