The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) recently organized a CSR & Sustainability Conference & Awards in Hyderabad, bringing together over 300 leaders from government, corporate, academia, and civil society. The event focused on driving India’s sustainable development agenda under the theme “People, Planet, Prosperity – Towards Viksit Bharat 2047.”

The conference commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp and an inspiring welcome by Mr. Rambabu Boorugu, Co-chair, ASSOCHAM Telangana State Development Council. A theme address by Mr. Abhishek Ranjan, Chair, ASSOCHAM Southern Region CSR & Sustainability Council, emphasized the need for collaborative action on sustainability.

The event featured four dynamic panel discussions: “People: Empowering Human Capital for Inclusive Growth,” “Planet: Climate Action and Sustainable Innovation,” “Prosperity: Economic Growth with Responsible Capitalism,” and “Viksit Bharat 2047 – CSR: From Campus to Corporate.” These discussions highlighted the importance of education, skilling, and health, as well as ESG, circular economy, and green technologies.

The conference culminated in the prestigious ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Awards 2024, recognizing exemplary contributions from leading organizations and changemakers. The award ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Finance & Planning, Energy, Government of Telangana. Over 20 organizations were recognized across various categories for their contributions in CSR and sustainability.

In his keynote address, Mr. Mallu acknowledged the crucial role of corporates in driving positive change across communities and commended their ongoing commitment to social and environmental responsibility. He emphasized the government of Telangana’s appreciation for this partnership and commitment to supporting inclusive development through strong industry collaboration.

The event reinforced Telangana’s leadership in sustainable and inclusive governance, with dignitaries such as Dr. K M Baharul Islam, Mr. Suresh Chukkapalli, and Smt. Harichandana Dasari addressing the gathering. The conference concluded with a call to action, emphasizing the need for inclusive, accountable, and innovative CSR to drive India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat 2047.

The ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Conclave 2025 stands as a pivotal step in galvanizing multi-stakeholder efforts to shape a greener, more equitable, and resilient India. The event brought together leaders from industry, government, academia, and civil society, reaffirming ASSOCHAM’s role in shaping a sustainable India. The award winners list included organizations such as The Body Shop India, Schaeffler India Limited, and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, among others, who were recognized for their excellence in diversity and inclusion, employee volunteering, energy management, and renewable energy.
