Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd. (WRTL), a leading solar EPC company, has secured a significant solar project worth ₹232.3 crore (approximately $32 million USD) from its parent company, Waaree Energies Ltd. The project involves the installation of a 170 MW AC (255 MW DC) ground-mounted solar power plant on a turnkey basis, with WRTL handling the full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scope, as well as the long-term Operation and Maintenance (O&M) to ensure sustained performance and efficiency.
The project is expected to be completed by the 2025-26 financial year and will significantly reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 225,000 metric tons annually, equivalent to removing nearly 50,000 fossil fuel-powered vehicles from the roads each year. This contributes to India’s decarbonization goals and demonstrates WRTL’s commitment to expanding the country’s clean energy footprint.
This project adds to WRTL’s expanding portfolio, which has already seen the delivery of over 10,000 solar installations, with a cumulative installed capacity of over 1.82 GW. The company has also secured another substantial project worth ₹740.06 crore (approximately $100 million USD) for a 125 MW AC solar project, which further solidifies WRTL’s leadership in the renewable sector and its role in helping India meet its sustainable energy targets.
With this project, WRTL will continue to play a pivotal role in the growth of India’s solar power industry, helping the country shift towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
