Shoals Technologies Group, a leading provider of electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to domestic manufacturing through its partnership with First Solar, a leading solar manufacturer. The partnership focuses on strengthening the reshoring of the U.S. solar industry’s supply chain, supporting the nation’s transition to sustainable energy and energy independence.

First Solar has invested $1.1 billion in a new facility in Alabama, creating over 800 direct manufacturing jobs. The company’s existing U.S. operations, including a 3.5 GW solar manufacturing facility, are also supported by Shoals’ custom junction boxes, made in Alabama. The partnership has the potential to support the growing demand for domestic electricity.

Shoals CEO Brandon Moss expressed pride in the partnership, stating that it demonstrates the company’s commitment to quality products and re-shoring the solar supply chain. Representative Robert Aderholt (Muscle Shoals, AL) commended Shoals and First Solar on the partnership, highlighting the importance of Alabama-made products in strengthening the domestic energy technology manufacturing sector.

First Solar has established itself as the largest solar manufacturer in the Western Hemisphere, with operating facilities in Ohio and a new $1.1 billion investment in a Louisiana facility in 2023. This long-term alignment with First Solar allows Shoals to continue investing in American jobs at its Alabama facility and contribute to the growth of the U.S. solar market.

U.S. Representative Dale Strong emphasized the importance of investing in U.S.-made solar technology to fuel the country’s economic growth and success. The partnership between Shoals and First Solar demonstrates a commitment to domestic manufacturing and energy independence, positioning the U.S. as a leader in the global energy transition.
